Iranian Personals is advertised as the perfect place for Iranian daters to meet each other, within a dating environment that specifically caters to their tastes and needs. Whilst the site may obviously attract a higher proportion of Iranian daters than other sites, it’s hard to see what features specifically address the needs of Iranian daters. On the most part, the site is everything like a normal dating site, and certainly accepts non-Iranian, non-Muslim (and even non-religious) users. For some, this relaxed environment (mirrored elsewhere) will be exactly what they are looking for, whilst others will prefer the more strictly ‘halaal’ approach to dating advocated on other Muslim dating sites.

Joining Iranian Personals takes a little time and commitment. The extensive user questionnaire that forms the basis of the joining process is around four screens long and delves deep into the details of your life. Whilst you can return to fill in some questions at a later date, most questions require answers before you can even create your profile (in contrast to other sites) so it does take a little while to get going on Iranian Personals. Once you’re all set, you can search through other ‘available’ members using the extensive and customizable search function, allowing search results to be filtered using a range of criteria.

Iranian Personals also has a range of great features that help to make the process of dating online a little more exciting. Aside from the traditional features of chat, email and ‘flirting’, users can also take an online personality match test to automatically match their profile with that of other users. Whilst this is not an original service, it is another great way to link users up with each other. Users can also take part in the discussions on the message boards, which, although they aren’t the most lively we have come across, does attract a steady stream of users. Finally, users can check out listings of Iranian Meet & Greet events, where they can get to know each other in real life at a range of events hosted across the world. Whilst this is an exciting feature, there weren’t that many of these events actually happening, especially outside of the United States, so we’re hoping it takes off in the future.

Iranian Personals is a good site with a range of great features that help to engage the user and allow them to explore the profiles of those on the site. Unfortunately, there are a few downsides to membership of Iranian Personals. One of these is the old-fashioned and untidy appearance of the site (once you get past the home screen), which some users may find a little disconcerting. More importantly, though, is the cost of membership to the site. Considering that the same features are available on other sites, and that Iranian Personals is definitely not the busiest site we have come across, the $24.99 a month (at its cheapest) price tag is a little steep.
