World Singles runs a range of successful sites, including Soul Singles and Ethiopian Personals (both of which feature on No.1 Reviews, within the Black Dating section). Salaam Love promises that its users have the opportunity to chat with and perhaps even meet in real life, Muslim and Muslimah singles from across the world including Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iran and Pakistan, to name but a few!

It only takes a short while to get going on Salaam Love, with users having to complete a relatively short questionnaire so that they can be easily searched for by other users. With the backup of World Singles, Salaam Love benefits from a range of features intended to make the process of dating online more enjoyable. Users can browse photos and videos left by other users to see who is available on the site, take part in live video and audio chats, use chatrooms, blogs and forums to get to know other members of the online community and make use of the instant messaging feature to get to know other users a little better. Salaam Love also benefits from World Singles’ stringent 5 star safety program (supported by Verisign), which ensures that users stay safe (and their personal information stays private) whilst they are dating online.

Unfortunately, however, Salaam Love falls at many of the same hurdles that prove difficult for other sites that are part of a large network of niche dating sites – the reason why Salaam Love does not do so well in the ratings in this category. Firstly, the site is not exclusively Muslim, nor does it in any way feel like it is – the site seems identical (to us, anyway), in terms of features and layout, to other sites in the World Singles network. The only noticeable difference between Salaam Love and Soul Singles, for example, is the colour scheme! The other major difficulty with Salaam Love is that it, like other sites that are part of a larger network, doesn’t seem as busy as some of the independent sites that feature higher in our reviews in this category. There doesn’t appear to be a particularly active user base, and all of the site’s features are relatively useless if there isn’t strong enough member support to warrant paying the subscription fee.

Whilst many of our readers will find the presence of the ‘World Singles’ network comforting and supportive, there’s no denying that online dating is largely a numbers game. While users have nothing to lose in checking out the site, and even signing up for free membership, they may be better off checking out a more popular, independent site that features higher in our reviews.
